We had a case whereby a client had a loan for a new house and all the documents were submitted to the bank with plenty of time before settlement.  We noticed that the file was not progressing through the departments as it should and raised our concern with the bank and had the file escalated.  Even still the cogs in the ‘Machine’ were were very slowly and at the day of settlement it still had not been booked.  With the client having a young family there was more at stake than the monetary cost involved by missing settlement.  We worked with the client’s solicitor to contact the right departments and people in the bank to pressure them to settle, and in the end we achieve the desired result.  The client was able to move into their new home as planned on the settlement date.
